Saturn

Saturn is the planet of limits, structure, and time. Where Jupiter expands, Saturn defines edges. Classical astrology calls Saturn "the great malefic," the source of misfortune. Modern psychological astrology, especially through Liz Greene, reframes Saturn as the figure who imposes the necessary discipline to actually master something.

Saturn moves slowly: about two and a half years per sign. His sign sets multi-year themes. His position relative to your natal chart at any moment is also what astrologers track as the "Saturn return" around age 29 to 30, the often-mentioned coming-of-age transit.
