Ingress
The moment a planet crosses from one sign into the next. Mercury entering Gemini, for example. AIstra often mentions ingresses because the day of the change carries the flavour of the transition.
An ingress is the moment a planet crosses from one zodiac sign into the next. Mercury entering Gemini, Venus entering Libra, Mars entering Capricorn. The exact moment is calculable to the minute from real ephemeris data.
Each planet's ingresses produce a different rhythm. The Moon ingresses every two and a half days. Mercury, Venus, and Mars several times a year. Jupiter and Saturn once a year or less. The slower planets' ingresses are calendar events: Pluto into Aquarius in 2024 was treated as a generational marker by astrologers worldwide.
AIstra notes ingresses in daily forecasts because the day of the change carries the flavour of the whole transition. "Today the Sun enters Cancer" implies the next four weeks. The ingress itself is a one-day event; the change it kicks off lasts weeks or longer.
