Mutable is the third modality. The four mutable signs are Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces — and they sit at the end of each season, when one tone is fading and another beginning. Late summer Virgo, late autumn Sagittarius, late winter Pisces, late spring Gemini.
